Tsunashima Dormitory

I really like the fact that meals were provided, breakfast and dinner from Monday to Saturday. The resident assistants (RA’s) were also really incredibly helpful, making it easy to reach out to them for any questions or assistance. They can also speak English well.

One of the things I like about Tsunashima is how convenient the location is. The dorm is situated in an area with a vibrant shopping street that has expanded around the station. With seven shopping associations and around 400 stores, including supermarkets, convenience stores, and drug stores, you can easily do all your shopping right by the station. The biggest attraction is the large number of restaurants. There are many different types of restaurants, from chain stores to individual stores, and the most common types of businesses are izakayas (Japanese bars) and cafes.

There were a few dorm-bonding events that really stood out. One of my favorites was when a group of 30-40 residents headed to Sushiro, a conveyor-belt sushi chain. We were divided into six tables, giving us the opportunity to interact with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. After indulging in sushi, some of us went bowling.
